Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving feast at Mike and Heather's house this year. Robert and Katina were there with their kids and Stephen ended up coming at the last minute - flying all night to be there for Thanksgiving. It was so fun to see them all - I'm sure it's been years since we've seen most of them. The food was fantastic. And when I walked in and saw Heather sweating away in the kitchen, I realized how nice it is not to host! (But don't worry, it was only a matter of time before I, too, was sweating away.) This was the only picture I got, probably due to trouble-causing children, but you can check out more here on Heather's blog.

Happiness

Today was Jane's 4th birthday. It was a happy day. I am trying not to indulge my children in their every whim, even if I am capable of doing so. However, it is a great source of joy to me to give them what they desire, so this birthday was nice because for one day I could pull out all the stops. Jane got everything she wanted. Good thing she is not really greedy. She wanted Beth and Josh and family there. They came. (Look at Joshie's face. What a sweet little guy.) She wanted a treasure hunt. Check. She wanted a fish pond. Check. She wanted pizza for dinner. Check. She wanted a flower cake and strawberry ice cream. Double check. It was fun being the grantor of her wishes.

Like many children, Jane enjoys taking pictures. I am glad she does, because as I look through my camera and see the things she has taken pictures of, I learn more about her. For example:
Her precious bunny, dressed in sister's clothes and all tucked into sister's carseat, with a cozy pillow behind. She takes such good care of her animals, especially bunny, and is constantly dressing them, wrapping them in blankets, tucking them in strollers, feeding them in high chairs, and doing anything else she sees me do with babies (include nursing in days gone by). I love seeing her feminine nature expressing itself.

Rebekah woke up from her nap last week all sweaty with her hair matted like this. Jan said she looked like a blond skunk with the combed-forward mohawk down the middle. What a sweetie.

2nd Annual Stott Family Halloween Party

Saturday was a wild time at the Stott house!

Will looked like he was wearing pants he'd worn in the 6th grade! His room mate was a good sport to come in for a picture, but "Aaagh!!!!!" He was scarry!

Angela and Stefanie dressed up in Henrietta's dancing dresses and crystal beads, with Stefanie wearing Henrietta's mink stole and Angela in Aunt Clara's mink jacket. I remember Mother wearing these dresses, which means she had already given birth to 8 children and was in her 40's. I would sit on her bed and watch her get ready, while my stomach ache grew and grew. . . my mommy was leaving for the evening:(! She would console, "But Susie! Mary and Kathryn and Martha and Robert will all be home"! "They're not you!" I would sob! These lovely dresses were snug on my slim daughters. Three cheers for Henrietta!

JDRF Walk for the Cure

Jon's gone. . . and what that means to us

The Zoo

Bridal shower

We had a great time at the bridal shower held for Jesse and Camille last weekend. Kay Shean hosted the party at her beautiful home up in Charleston, Utah. Some of the little girls even got to ride horses after!
